why do you do what you do?

many times i have tried to write, in a nice neat, attractive blog post, as to the why of Arcadia Gardens, and i cannot tell you of my experiences with autism, i tried, it’s been, too challenging, the very best answer, the most simple answer is, my son. My son is the reason why, i will tell you that in all my 55 years on this planet he is the most amazing man i have ever met, i will tell you how he is the only decent man i have been lucky enough to know, and i can tell you i am the luckiest person in the world because i was the one who got to be mum to him and his sisters, i am the luckiest person in the world, however that is only my personal reasons for my determination, and my personal reasons don’t come into it, the reason i do this, why i have to do it, is because it needs to be done, that’s it, in a nutshell, it simply has to be done. Why fashion? why spend every waking minute possible designing clothes to raise money to build Arcadia Gardens? because i wanted to be a not-for-profit and not a charity, and of all the things i can make clothes is something i not only enjoy doing but it is something everyone uses, my other talents lay in hat making/jewellery/anything crafty really i am one of those that is ‘good with their hands’ from pottery to felting i have tried them all but not everyone wants a unique hat, and not everyone needs a tutu ๐Ÿ™‚ but clothes are quite appealing to the average person ๐Ÿ™‚ so in the best way i can say ; i do what i do because it has to be done and i chose this way to do it because its something i can enjoy no matter how much i have to do it, why on a personal level is because of my son, why he inspires me is because he has been an amazing child and has grown into a truly excellent man, why anyone should do anything in this life? maya angelou said it best, she said;

do right

i hope you have an excellent day

Thank you to all our supporters; every reader, every customer, every friend of Arcadia Gardens is truly appreciated, together we can build a better world

respect

    How nice to meet you here. I am touched by your sincerity and I’ know your son is a wonderful man, just because you say so.

      hiya and thank you for your lovely words i appreciate your kindness, if you were to ask my son what he wanted in life he would tell you something which is a rather simple request to be made by anyone, to be made by a young lad of 18 it may help in showing why i am so driven, if asked what would he like in life, he would answer; he would like to be able to go to the shops, on his own, without fear. so i figured i have to build the place where he can walk down the street without fear, to do something as simple as visit a shop, and thus arcadia gardens was born ๐Ÿ™‚ there is a lot more to it now but i would end up writing a book ๐Ÿ™‚ instead i will say a big thank you for dropping by and chatting i very much appreciate your support i hope you have a wonderful day, respect

    Having a child with a NDD is a life long challenge that brings its challenges and above all its pride. They drive us to be the best parents and most compassionate people. I struggle each day but I am so thankful for everything my daughter has brought (she has ADHD & ASD) ! Your post is inspirational thank you xx

        Hi there… lovely to meet you too. I am
        very lucky yes that we have a great support network. I, myself have over 30 years experience as an OT which has really helped me fight for and alongside my daughter. She is growing day by day and I am proud of her. Our children bring something unique that shouldnโ€™t be shunned or feared. Xx

      it’s difficult for me to share anything personal, for a number of reasons, however i when someone asks why i thought it best to answer, though writing that post was the most difficult post i have done i am glad i have now covered the why of things,i much prefer talking about, well anythin other than personal stuff ๐Ÿ™‚ though to be honest i am not a big talker anyway, not really known for my conversational skills ๐Ÿ™‚ thank you for popping round for a chat, its always good to see you my friend always makes my day, i hope you have a wonderful weekend, respect ,
